Shea Butter FC

Skye and Sylvs are the hosts of a weekly podcast that covers the week in women’s soccer from the lens of two Black women who love and understand the sport. We also strive to bring Black American culture to soccer in the United States and embrace all cultures of the Diaspora in the beautiful game.

Some highlights of our show include:

•  Shea Butter Superlatives, where we highlight specific moments and skills performed by Black players

• Soccer Skool, where we break down the basics of soccer including player positions, formation/tactical set up and rules.

• Get Ya Fits Rights , where we explore incorporation of Black culture into the clothing/footwear used on and off the pitch.  We have also done multiple crossover episodes with Diaspora United, For The Culture United (FTCUTD), Gal Pal Sports, Sounder At Heart, and 2Cents FC. Additionally, we have covered the NWSL Expansion and College Drafts and Liga MX Feminil’s Liguilla final on Twitter Spaces with Eugene Ripinski and AJ Juarez. We have also started our series The Shea Butter Kickback, a live interview platform on Twitter Spaces. We have three episodes with Angel City FC’s Jasmyne Spencer, NWSL rookie Sydney Cummings and North Carolina Courage’s Jorian Baucom.
